U18 Development Programme 2025

What is the programme?

Southland Hockey will deliver a 4-week  Under-18 Development Programme in Term 1. These sessions are open to all players aspiring to play school, club, and representative hockey.

The Tuesday sessions will focus on fundamental skills, principles of play, decision-making, and small gameplay. The Friday sessions, known as “Free Play Friday,” will be informal and emphasize fun and creativity, encouraging players to engage in pick-up games or explore activities that challenge their skills. This programme is an excellent preparation for the upcoming school, club, and representative hockey seasons.

Who can join?

You must be in under 18 (born between 2007 and 2009) to participate.

When?

The programme runs from February 25th to March 21, 2025, on the following dates:

• Tuesdays: February 25 (Invers), March 4 (Gore), 11(Invers), 18(Gore). (6–7:30 PM) (Alternate between Gore and Invercargill)
• Fridays: February 28, March 7, 14, 21 (4:00–5:00 PM) (Both Gore and Invercargill each week)

Tuesday 1st April & Sunday 6th April. More trials may be held if necessary.
